Therapy Offerings

  • Individual therapy is a collaborative and personalized process designed to help you navigate challenges, address trauma, and improve your mental health and well-being. It is a one-on-one relationship where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

The intention of individual therapy is to provide you with support, guidance, and feedback as you work through personal challenges, build upon your strengths, and enhance your overall quality of life. It is an opportunity to gain insight into your own thought patterns and experiences, explore your feelings and relationship with embodiment of emotions, as well as identify strategies for managing stress, anxiety, depression, and/or other emotional health experiences.

Whether you are struggling with mood, trauma, body image, identity, relationships, or seeking greater self-awareness and personal growth, individual therapy can be an effective support for enhancing your mental health and well-being. You can develop new approaches and perspectives, gain clarity and insight, and achieve greater balance in your life.

  • Couples therapy, also referred to here as partner or relational therapy, is a specialized form of therapy that focuses on improving the quality and health of intimate/bonded relationships. It is a collaborative process between two or more partners and a therapist, designed to help partners navigate challenges, improve communication, and deepen their connection with each other.

Partner therapy can be beneficial for a range of issues, including communication problems, trust issues, infidelity, sexual issues, power struggles, relationship re-structuring, and conflicts related to family or finances. Whether you are in a long-term relationship or just starting out, partner therapy can help you and your partner develop stronger bonds, greater intimacy, and more effective communication.

During partner therapy, you and your partner will work with me to identify patterns of behavior or emotional experiences that may be contributing to conflicts or challenges in your relationship. I will help you develop new avenues for managing conflict and communicating more effectively with each other.

  • Adolescent therapy is designed to help young people navigate the challenges of adolescence and improve their mental health and well-being. It is a collaborative process between a therapist and a teenager, between the ages of 12 and 18, designed to provide support, guidance, and feedback during a critical time of development.

Adolescence can be a difficult and confusing time for many young people. They may be struggling with issues related to identity, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, peer relationships, body image, puberty, identity, school, or family dynamics. Adolescent therapy can provide a safe and non-judgmental space for young people to explore these issues and develop the skills and tools they need to manage them.

During adolescent therapy, I will work with the young person to identify their unique strengths and challenges, develop best hopes for therapy, and provide support and guidance as they work toward their goals. Therapy sessions may involve talking, art, play, or other activities designed to help young people explore their thoughts and feelings in a supportive and engaging way.

My approach specifically includes as-needed parent sessions to foster more in-depth support of the adolescent and better address family dynamics in a supportive environment.

  • Family therapy, also known as family systems therapy, is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on improving relationships and resolving conflicts within a family unit. It is based on the belief that problems within a family are often interconnected and that addressing these issues collectively can lead to positive changes.

In family therapy, a trained therapist works with the entire family or specific family members to identify and understand the dynamics, communication patterns, and underlying issues that contribute to difficulties or tensions within the family. The goal is to foster better communication, strengthen bonds, and develop strategies for coping with challenges as a family.

Family therapy can be beneficial for a wide range of issues, including marital conflicts, parent-child conflicts, substance abuse, mental health issues, grief and loss, and more. I use various techniques and approaches to help families navigate their unique challenges and achieve healthier, more functional relationships.

I offer family therapy to families with children over 12, for adult child and parent relationships, as well as in conjunction with adolescent therapy.

Gender Affirming Surgery Letters

  • WPATH letters are often needed for coverage of gender-affirming surgeries and procedures. I have training in this area and adhere to WPATH standards.

  • I strive to reduce gatekeeping and provide these letters for long-term clients as well as short-term clients who are solely seeking WPATH letters. I generally provide a letter in 1-3 sessions, which include assessment and letter-writing, however, this may vary slightly.

I can send letters with a verified electronic signature with a signed ROI (release of information).

  • I do not charge additional for the letter and otherwise, assessment and letter writing sessions are my regular rate of $150/session.

I am a provider participating in the GALAP pledge (learn more here)
